Comporta/Portugal
Sitting between sea and rice fields, in the northwest coast of Alentejo, Comporta is a secret paradise famous for its languid beaches and sand dunes that shelter its vast rice paddies, tended to by rice farmers who have been in Comporta since the beginning of time, shaping the look of the landscape and conserving the unique architecture - small, low-built, thatched cabanas, hooped with tightly packed grasses from the riverbanks and beams of wood from the pine forests.
It is just over an hour away from Portugal’s capital, Lisbon. Arriving here, you will immediately be taken in by its natural, untouched beauty.

WELCOME DRINKS
We will be hosting welcome drinks at Liquid Love, a cocktail bar in Intendente, Lisbon, on 21 May. It’s a bar that we love for its experimental cocktails that use fresh ingredients with innovation as well as great food and atmosphere - and also the fact that it's owned by two of our friends, Cheila and Semi. The party will start at around 6 p.m. until midnight and we will be serving drinks and canapés during the evening.

TRAVEL TO COMPORTA/LEISURE DAY
If you’ve chosen to come to the welcome drinks then this will be the day to either spend exploring Lisbon or travelling to Comporta at your leisure and enjoying the beach and local area.

WEDDING DAY
Our wedding ceremony will take place at Sublime Comporta Resort followed by a party at their Beach Club:

GETTING THERE
The closest airport to the wedding venue is Lisbon Airport (LIS) and it takes just over an hour to drive to the region of Comporta where our wedding is taking place.
The best way to get to Comporta from Lisbon is by car. You can rent cars from car rental companies like Budget, AVIS, Hertz and Sixt in advance of your trip or at the airport.
You can also travel by public transport. If by train or bus, please book ahead as both services are fairly infrequent. It will take you just over an hour by train and just under two hours by bus.
There are three daily trains that go from Lisboa - Sete Rios Station to Grandola Station and from there you can get a taxi to your hotel or the wedding venue (if you are travelling to Lisbon on the day of the wedding). You can book trains here (although note train tickets for May are not yet available so check back closer to the time!)

We would like you to wear your best outfits to celebrate with us at our wedding! The welcome drinks will be more relaxed but feel free to get dressed up for this too! We want you to be comfortable throughout so remember that May in Lisbon and Comporta can be quite warm during the day and cooler in the evening.

The wedding itself is at Sublime Comporta Resort where we are staying, so you are welcome to book there or book somewhere in nearby Comporta or the surrounding area. Comporta is made up of seven villages (Pego, Carvalhal, Brejos, Torre, Possanco, Carrasqueira, and Comporta) plus nearby Troia and the towns of Grandola and Alcacer do Sal, all within a reasonable distance of the wedding venue.
